Wednesday about mid-day, I got a call from a number I didn’t recognize. It was the animal shelter. Someone had turned in my black, one-eared cat who went missing in January. I thought she was dead. My funny, noisy, oddball cat is back, although she’s lost a full 1/3 of her body weight. She’s just skin and bones.
My cat boy came back after 15 months absence, just came leaping in the window one night, thin and injured and (it turned out) with FIV. It is so strange to fully mourn and be given a second round. He and the cat we adopted in his absence aren't friends still, but they tolerate each other. We are a family. It's enough, more than enough, it's an abundance.

We ARE nearly there, and the happy news sure doesn't hurt.

Lovely. Thank you.
