Well-said, my friend. Not selfish. We only have so much time ourselves. And your loved ones know they are/were/still are loved. Make the most of this time and give yourself permission to leave regret behind ❤️

I’m at a very similar stage in life to you so I emphasise with what you’re going through. This may help you, my mum returned to live in Malta when she retired and became very close to one of my cousins who was like another daughter to her. When she became ill with cancer she came home to me for treatment but ultimately she became very I’ll. My cousin was in to and fros on wanting to come and say goodbye but ultimately my mum slipped away before she could. When I went to Malta for a memorial service for mum, my cousin was beside herself with regret but I reminded her that the memories that matter are the ones that were made in life not those last miserable few weeks. It gave her comfort because it’s true.
